Dear Academy Families,
Over the last few weeks, it has come to our attention that across the diocese, city, state, and country we are seeing an increase in the number of students (middle and high school) that are in possession of marijuana-laced items that can be potentially very dangerous if consumed. These items include cookies, brownies, and chewable gummies. In some cases, though there have been cases where younger children have consumed these items thinking they were safe snacks. This is especially worrisome with the upcoming Halloween holiday.
Due to this increase, the diocese is hosting three information sessions (see below) on Cannabis Edibles, starting this Wednesday evening at 7 pm. We do recommend that all families try to log in to one of the three sessions over the next few weeks to learn more about this current trend.

This is also a good time to remind families and students that the presence of any of these items on school grounds can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including suspension/expulsion. The presence of drugs is a criminal offense and the NYPD will be notified.
