SFDS Weekly Update #38- 6/19/23

Dear Academy Families,

Happy Father’s Day!

Fatherhood is an incredible vocation, entrusted to men by God. Fathers are called to be a reflection of God's unconditional love and to nurture their children's physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Let us take a moment to appreciate and honor the fathers among us who have embraced this calling wholeheartedly. We also remember those Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles and special people in our lives who have passed away this past year and pray for them and their families. On this Father's Day, let us express gratitude for our earthly fathers and recognize their profound role in our lives. At the same time, let us remember that all fatherhood finds its origin and purpose in God, our Heavenly Father. By embracing the divine attributes of love and sacrifice all fathers can become vessels of God's grace, shaping the lives of their children and reflecting the image of the Heavenly Father.

Last night St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy had 47 students officially graduate our Catholic Academy. These students now join over 10,000 others in becoming alumni of our beloved school. For those who missed last night's graduation feel free to watch the ceremony by clicking the link below.

Class of 2023 Graduation

As we approach the end of the school year it is always a bittersweet time. We begin to look at the finish line and anticipate our summer vacation. It is also a time to say farewell as well. This summer both Ms. Loughlin and Ms. Kelleher will be leaving our faculty. Ms. Loughlin will be continuing her career in catholic education to teach at Marymount School of New York. Ms. Kelleher will be leaving us to focus on her local business. I thank both Ms. Loughlin and Ms. Kelleher for their service to St. Francis and we wish them both the best of luck as they move forward.
