SFDS Weekly Update #18- 1/12/23

Dear Academy Families,

This week we as Christians are asked to pray for Christian Unity. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has a history of over 100 years, in which Christians around the world have taken part in an octave of prayer for visible Christian unity.  By annually observing the WPCU, Christians move toward the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer at the Last Supper "that they all may be one."  (cf. John 17:21)

As we begin the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, let us today pray for God to help Christian Churches, and all people of goodwill, to seek common ground and an appreciation for each other.

Loving God, we ask that you grant us the spirit of wisdom and unity, so that we may be one, even as you are one with our Lord Jesus Christ - and he with you.

Enable all the members of the body of Christ to live together in unity and fellowship with one another, and lead us into the paths of peace and righteousness so that we may be well-pleasing in your sight.

We ask you to teach us how to love one another as Christ loved us and help us to show one another the unusual kindness that can only come from knowing your Son, Jesus. May the Spirit stir up in our hearts a desire to be united as one, in the bond of peace and fellowship. This we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Just a reminder that this weekend our students have a four-day weekend that gets kicked off on Friday, January 13th as the faculty participates in a Diocesan-wide professional development day that is then followed by Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 16th.

COVID Cases: Just a reminder that all positive COVID cases still need to be reported to the school using the following form. NYS DOH still requires reporting of COVID cases and has left that to the local health authority which for our schools is the NYC DOH. So we need to make sure that all positive cases are reported to the school for our records if the NYC DOH should request that information.
